CUP to Publish Journal

The Philosophy of Science Association is delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with Cambridge University Press to publish our flagship journal, Philosophy of Science, beginning in 2022.

Ella Colvin, Publishing Director for Cambridge University Press, said: “We are both delighted and deeply honoured to be partnering with the PSA to publish Philosophy of Science. The journal has set the benchmark for scholarship in the field since its founding and it is our great privilege to have the opportunity of working with the Association and the journal’s editorial team over this next phase in its history.”

“This partnership brings together two organizations with long-standing commitments to philosophy of science, and to the humanities more broadly. In combining our strengths, we will ensure that Philosophy of Science is able to adapt sustainably to a changing publishing landscape, reaching and remaining relevant to the widest global community of scholars.”

On behalf of the PSA Governing Board and Philosophy of Science Editorial Team, Alison Wylie, President of the PSA, welcomes the opportunity to work with Cambridge University Press. She notes that “the journal has always been central to the mission of the PSA; its success is critical to the vitality of our field and to expanding its reach – now at a time when a sophisticated philosophical understanding of science is more important than ever. With dramatic changes taking shape in the world of academic publishing we particularly appreciate CUP’s commitment to ensuring that we maintain and build on our established track record of publishing cutting-edge scholarship with the highest standards of rigor, precision, and accuracy.”
