The University of Pittsburgh requests nominations for the 2017 Nicholas Rescher Prize for contributions to systematic philosophy.

As a counterweight to recent trends towards specialization in philosophy, the Nicholas Rescher Prize honors philosophers who address the larger issues of the human condition in a way that commands the respect of specialists.

Awarded biennially, the prize consists of a gold medal together with a sum of $30,000. The prize bears comparison with the Pulitzer Prizes administered by Columbia University.
