This project is an attempt to create a measure of a more social conception of scientific literacy (or "the understanding of science") that focuses on the the social structure of science.

Matthew Slater, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Bucknell University, is asking for the assistance of philosophers, historians, sociologists, and other scholars of science to help refine and validate a survey designed to measure the public's understanding of the social processes that make up the scientific enterprise. Aside from contributing to some applied and socially-relevant philosophy of science, completing the survey below will allow you to enter a raffle for two $25 Starbucks gift cards. Thanks for your help!
