Fay Horton Sawyier Pre-Doctoral Teaching Fellowship in Philosophy.  
One year fellowship, renewable for a second year, intended for graduate students at the dissertation stage of their studies.  
Begins August 2017.  

IIT is interested in candidates with a research specialty in Ancient philosophy or Ethics. 
Teaching responsibilities typically consist of one upper-level undergraduate philosophy course and one lower-level humanities course each semester.
Salary: $38,000 per year plus benefits and relocation assistance.  Funding for travel to professional conferences is available on a case to case basis. 

Candidates must have completed all the requirements for the Ph. D. except for the dissertation, which they should expect to defend no earlier than the spring semester of 2018.
