Patrick Suppes, Lucie Stern Professor of Philosophy emeritus at Stanford, and former President of the PSA, 1977-1978, died peacefully at his home on November 17, 2014, at the age of 92. He was a major contributor to philosophy of physics, probability theory, and formal philosophy more generally, as well as to the disciplines of psychology, education and statistics, and an active scholar until his death at 92.
